Aug 30 - Gravel and Sewer Back Fill

How they filled the basement with gravel.

They finally back filled the trench of the sewer line.  This is only the new sewer line for our in-laws.  They have to connect our house with the pipe where the 2x4 in the ground is.

August 28 - Plumbing Rough In

The rough in plumbing in the basement.  This picture was actually taken on the 29th, as they did one load of gravel.

 Here is our sump pump in case we have a high water year.  It is set under our footing by about a foot.

Waterproofing and Plumbing

The waterproofing has been painted on the exterior, the drain lines are in place, so the next step is to put more gravel down then pour the basement floor.  I think some of the dirt will get backfilled as well, so that the sewer line can be dug and connected.

Basement Walls

Walls.  They're supposed to be coming back today to take the forms off.  I'm excited to see the windows and doors that are in there somewhere.

Footings

See the cement-moving truck in the background?  We'll have footings by the end of the day.

Interior Ideas

This is from a remodel designed by a friend.  I'm looking at how to combine wood floor (or wood-look-tile) with white trim and neutral paint.  I think I'm going with white or off white kitchen cabinets, but maybe a wood island.
